The agentic AI auditing solution · v2.2.4

Chat CPA, in your terminal.

The AuditFile CLI signs in to your firm with a pairing code — like your Apple TV — and puts Chat CPA where partners actually work. Switch engagements, switch clients, pick your model and effort, and ask anything about your practice.

  • Pairs with your AuditFile account
  • Streams its reasoning as it works
  • One-line install, updates itself

One-line install

Copy. Paste. Done.

/bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://auditfile.com/cli/install.sh)"

Requires Node.js 18+ · macOS & Linux · installs to ~/.auditfile · the installer never edits your profile on its own · uninstall with rm -rf ~/.auditfile

Then /login — approve the pairing code at auditfile.com/pairing and you're in.

Always current: the CLI checks for a new version on start, and /update (or auditfile update ) swaps it in place. No package manager, no reinstall.

Your practice, one keystroke away

Slash commands an audit partner actually needs

Chat CPA answers with your firm's context — and the session follows you around the practice. Every command is singular, every picker is arrow keys, esc always backs out.

/engagement

Switch into any engagement you're assigned. Chat CPA loads its full review context — balances, procedures, open items — and the engagement skills light up.

/skill

Browse what Chat CPA can do: engagement lookups, disclosure checklists, sampling assistance, workpaper files, web research. Skills fire automatically when your question needs them.

/btw

"By the way — cite PCAOB, not AICPA." Standing notes Chat CPA remembers in every conversation, in the terminal and on the web. One command to teach it your firm's preferences.

Built for AI agents

Your agents can run the practice too

Print mode gives scripts and AI agents a clean one-shot interface: plain text on stdout, progress on stderr, exit codes that mean something.

  • auditfile -p "…" — one question, one streamed answer, exit 0 on success.
  • Engagement context sticks — the /engagement you picked applies to print runs as well.
  • Pairing tokens are revocable — every device is named and listed at auditfile.com/api_tokens.
  • Piped sessions — echo slash commands into auditfile and nothing is dropped.
$ auditfile -p "which engagements have requests overdue this week?"
Two need attention: Northwind FY2025 (4 items, oldest 12 days) and
Contoso 401(k) (1 item). Everything else is current.
$ echo $?

Effort

Unleash maximum intelligence with UltraAssurance™

/effort sets how hard Chat CPA thinks: off, low, medium, high, xhigh — and UltraAssurance™, the maximum setting, which detonates a full-screen ASCII starburst when you choose it.

 /effort ultraassurance
     ✹ ───────────────────────────── ✹
        E F F O R T : UltraAssurance™
     ✹ ───────────────────────────── ✹
          the ultimate in agentic AI

And you watch every level work: Chat CPA's actual reasoning streams into the terminal as it thinks — dim lines flying by, real tool activity on the status line — then the answer, then the numbers behind it.

Security

Enterprise grade, from the first keystroke

Pairing, not passwords

The CLI never sees your password. It shows an 8-character code, you approve it signed in on the web, and the device gets its own named, revocable token.

Your firm's Chat CPA

Every answer runs on your firm's AuditFile server with your firm's models, permissions, and AI policies. Nothing routes around them.

Auditable install

The installer is a short, readable shell script and the CLI ships as a single unminified file you can open in an editor before you run it.

The practice moves faster in the terminal.

Install the CLI, pair it in under a minute, and ask Chat CPA what needs your attention today.
